    理由

    在LSE於2016年1月9日發布的新聞稿裡，除了恭賀校友蔡英文當選台灣總統，也寫明她於1984年獲得LSE頒發的博士學位。

    該內文只有寫到LSE圖書館和參議院圖書館無法找到蔡英文的論文，但沒有提到任何有關「英國 LSE 正式否認蔡英文有提交論文」。這並不是正式的聲明甚至不是一封詢問電子郵件，而只是資料庫查詢結果，只能證明2019年6月時有人發現LSE和IALS沒有蔡英文的論文是正確的。
