This is absolutely insane. China is facing a garbage shortage. Yes, you heard that right, a shortage of garbage. There isn't enough trash to go around. While the rest of the world is overwhelmed by too much waste, major cities across China are not only buying garbage, but even digging up landfills that were sealed over a decade ago. So what's going on here? In fact, China also struggled with being surrounded by trash for many years. That was until 2009, when Du Xiangwan, an academician from the Chinese Academy of Engineering, proposed an experimental plan for waste-to-energy incineration. At first, the plan faced heavy opposition. After all, burning garbage releases large amounts of harmful gases. But after 10 years of experiments and improvements, the research team discovered that if the incineration temperature is maintained at 1,100 degrees Celsius, nearly all of those toxic gases can be broken down. Before incineration, AI-powered sorting systems are used to process the waste. Metals are recovered from electronic waste. Plastics are extracted from toys and other products. And only the remaining unrecyclable waste is sent into the furnace. But this isn't just simple burning. The heat from incineration is used to generate electricity. One ton of garbage can produce about 300 to 500 kilowatt-hours of electricity. Let me tell you an interesting number. In 2024, China generated an average of 719,000 tons of garbage per day. Yet the country has 1010 waste-to-energy plants, capable of burning about 800,000 tons per day. You've probably spotted the key issue. China doesn't have enough garbage. There isn't enough trash to keep all the power plants running at full capacity. That's why this strange business model of power plants buying garbage has emerged. Today, this technology is being exported to over 40 countries, helping them become cleaner and more sustainable.

According to the data, the sampled black rockfish contains the radioactive element Cs-137 with a content of 18,000 becquerels per kilogram. TEPCO said it will set up multiple protective nets to prevent fish from swimming out of the harbor. A Chinese news website sina.com.cn quoted experts noting that the radioactive elements in the nuclear wastewater could penetrate into fish, shrimp and other seafood, and later accumulate in the human body after consumption. A magnitude 9.0 quake on March 11, 2011, triggered a massive tsunami that destroyed the plant's power supply and cooling systems, causing reactors No. 1, 2 and 3 to melt and spew large amounts of radiation. Water used to cool the reactors' cores leaked into the basements of the reactor buildings and mixed with rainwater and groundwater. Now, 12 years after the triple reactor meltdowns, Japan is preparing to release the massive amount of treated radioactive wastewater into the sea later this summer. TEPCO on Monday started sending seawater into an underwater tunnel to be diluted before releasing the nuclear wastewater into the ocean. The company said that all facilities for the water release system are expected to be completed by the end of this month. Local fishing communities say their businesses and livelihoods will suffer still more damage. Neighboring countries such as China and South Korea and Pacific Island nations have raised safety concerns. Environmental groups including Friends of the Earth oppose the release. Tesla, which is also known for its electric cars, declined to comment. Taiwan was hit by a mass power outage on Tuesday, the largest by number of households affected since a massive earthquake struck in 1999. The blackout came after government-run petroleum company CPC Corporation ran into difficulties while replacing the power supply for a control system responsible for sending natural gas to a power plant. A number of tech companies in Taiwan have suffered some minor disruption to production following the outage. They don't fall out of the sky. They come from American parents and American families, American homes, American schools, and they're elected by American citizens. This is the best we can do, folks. This is what we have to offer. It's what our system produces. Garbage in, garbage out. If you have selfish, ignorant citizens, you're going to get selfish, ignorant leaders. So maybe, maybe, maybe it's not the politicians who suck. Maybe something else sucks around here, like the public. Yeah, the public sucks. There's a nice campaign slogan for somebody. The public sucks. Fuck hope. Fuck hope. It's never going to get any better. Don't look for it. Be happy with what you got. Because the owners of this country don't want that. I'm talking about the real owners now. The real owners, the big wealthy business interests that control things and make all the important decisions. Forget the politicians. The politicians are put there to give you the idea that you have freedom of choice. You don't. You have no choice. You have owners. They own you. They own everything. They own all the important land. They own and control the corporations. They've long since bought and paid for the Senate, the Congress, the state houses, the city halls. They've got the judges in their back pockets. And they own all the big media companies, so they control just about all of the news and information you get to hear. They got you by the balls. They spend billions of dollars every year lobbying, lobbying to get what they want. Well, we know what they want. They want more for themselves and less for everybody else. But I'll tell you what they don't want. They don't want a population of citizens capable of critical thinking. They don't want well-informed, well-educated people capable of critical thinking. They're not interested in that. That doesn't help them. That's against their interest. That's right. You know what they want? They want obedient workers. Obedient workers. People who are just smart enough to run the machines and do the paperwork and just dumb enough to passively accept all these increasingly shittier jobs with the lower pay, the longer hours, the reduced benefits, the end of overtime, and the vanishing pension that disappears the minute you go to collect it. And now they're coming for your Social Security money. They want your fucking retirement money. They want it back so they can give it to their criminal friends on Wall Street. And you know something? They'll get it. They'll get it all from you sooner or later because they own this fucking place. It's a big club. And you ain't in it. You and I are not in the big club. By the way, it's the same big club they used to beat you over the head with all day long when they tell you what to believe all day long, beating you over the head in their media, telling you what to believe, what to think, and what to buy. In 2016, the system was found to have four leaks. In 2018, the Japanese Kyodo News revealed that radioactive elements such as iodine and cesium in the "treated water" exceeded the permissible limits. In 2021, over half of the ALPS filters were found to be damaged, despite having been replaced just two years before. TEPCO itself has a history of concealing and falsifying records regarding nuclear power plant safety. In 2002, it was revealed that TEPCO had tampered with or fabricated safety inspection records for nearly 20 years, leading to the resignation of top executives. In 2007, TEPCO admitted to falsifying inspection data in 199 instances since 1977 at Fukushima Daiichi and Daini nuclear power plants, concealing reactor malfunctions. In 2021, it was exposed that TEPCO had concealed the damage to ALPS filters. In October 2022, Tokyo Shimbun reported that TEPCO misled visitors with faulty radiation measurement devices to prove the safety of the "ALPS-treated water." The U.S. National Association of Marine Laboratories (NAML), an organization composed of over 100 member laboratories, published a position paper stating that Japan lacks sufficient accurate scientific data to support the safety of releasing nuclear wastewater. On the contrary, ample data indicates serious concerns regarding the release of radioactive wastewater. What is one habit of yours that makes you more productive as an entrepreneur? I try to be fairly aware of my own ADD and so I will make lists to hold myself accountable for the items on them. I also try to solve this problem in our hiring practices by surrounding myself with people that are very detail and process focused. What advice would you give your younger self? Find a problem you think you can solve and really focus on it. It has been instrumental to my own growth and the growth of my businesses. What is one failure you had as an entrepreneur, and how did you overcome it? That would probably be my first company, Load Ltd. Load was a hosted application service provider before there was a term for Software As A Service (SaaS). We had a popular email product called LoadMail, that was used by a number of major companies. About 1 year into the business we chose to offer additional services above and beyond just mail and it was this decision that would prove to be our failure. As a team, we didn’t fully understand how diversifying our focus would negatively impact our effectiveness. What is one business idea that you’re willing to give away to our readers? I like ideas that take subject knowledge and find a way to productize it. One idea I had was to do this for athletic departments in D1 schools, so they could crowdsource from their athletes, managers, and students the creation of social marketing content.   • 被『強酸強鹼』噴到或淋到時要如何處理? 2013年11月份,台灣石油工會,第一分會月刊報導(高雄廠) 作者,許廷訓,台灣中油公司(Taiwan cpc petroleum )服務, 目前是兼任,高壓特定氣体訓練班(中油公司,對新進員工的基礎訓練)的助教。 在高壓氣体訓練班的課程,我問過將近100個,以上來自台灣中油,全國各單位的工作人員,你們如果被硫酸淋到時你要如何做,所有的人異口同聲說,要用大量的清水沖洗,80%以上的人都有大學以上的學歷,他們都這樣說,我當場告訴他們,如果是這樣的,你會死的很難看,這也是我認為該公開讓大家知道的原因,目前高雄廠,所有有強酸強鹼的地方,告示牌(物質安全資料表),所有的說明都說,如被強酸強鹼淋到時要用大量的清水沖洗……..這種說法是正確嗎?如不正確為什麼幾十年來沒人質疑?在學校的化學實驗室老師,也是這樣告訴我們的? 本人以前曾經被因銹蝕管線針孔洩漏的硫酸所噴到,當時的感覺是好像有一個火把靠近你的臉頰,很熱很熱,我當然了解是被硫酸所噴到,(只是當時必須離開現場,因為那裡洩漏,一時間,看不出來那洩漏的地點),當時我所做的是,用未被硫酸所噴到的衣服擦拭被硫酸所噴到的臉頰,再去沖水,5-10分鐘,但是這跟沒有擦拭去沖水有什麼差別? You know the boiling point of sulfuric acid is 338centigrade degree while water only 100. When water meetssulfuric, water begins to boil and produce heatas reaction. Sulfuric acid, along with protein and fat, rapidly facilitates[R-C-NH2] hydrolysisandEster hydrolysis, further todecompose bio- tissue, causing the chemical burns. He gave three examples to illustrate three different results caused by the diverse handling procedure:[a]. One tour bus bumped into sulfuric acid- loading truck on the ZHONGSHAN national freeway. The tank broke down. So did the window shield of the tour bus. Acid sprayed onto the bus driver’s eyes. The lady tour guide spontaneouslyrinsed his eyes with bottle water.
